Rolf started his fitness lifestyle at the age of 6 when he began Kung Fu training. He trained in different martial arts on and off for over 20 years. He started weightlifting in high school, and hasn’t stopped. After injuring his wrist during a powerlifting competition, he was told he would never weigh lift again. This is when he took up yoga. With the help of Power Yoga, a book by Beryl Bender Birch, he began to study yoga. He found an amazing instructor in NYC, Julie Dohrman, who he learned a great deal from, as well.
Rolf uses weightlifting and yoga to help him deal with scoliosis. These practices have helped him keep his back in check and have helped him mentally and physically in many ways.
Rolf is a certified in TRX one on one, TRX group training, Crossfit Level One, and Crossfit Mobility. His class at HPS brings high energy, yoga flexibility, mobility, with a huge presence of strength training mixed in. His belief is flexibility is the key to life and preventing injury, with core strength being a huge part of this. Rolf is always trying to change up his class and make things exciting.
